Our Story

About the College

The college is named in memory of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the great freedom fighter and first Education Minister of independent India, who was committed to empowering society through higher education and quality training. The Subhania Anjuman Islamia society was founded by the visionary Janab Hakeem Mohammed Abdus Subhan Sahab. Concerned about education for every section of society, especially girls, he donated his assets for educational development and started a primary school in 1926, later upgraded to a middle school in 1967 and a higher secondary school in 1969. The institution grew through the contributions of Shri Raghuvanshnath Thakur, Abdul Karim, Janab Bashir Ahmed Qureshi, Shri K. G. Ansari, Dr. Riyazuddin, Dr. A. H.

Khan, Dr. M. S. K. Khokhar and many other learned citizens of Bilaspur. Their movement established the B. Ed. college under Subhania Anjuman Islamia, and their devotion continues to guide the institution.
